For the last two and a half years, the men of Alpha Kappa have sponsored a young child in Rwanda. Tuyishire Daniel lives with both of his parents and is responsible for carrying water, gathering firewood, and cleaning. His father sometimes is employed as a farmer, as is his mother. There are seven children in his family.
Soccer, playing with marbles, and playing group games are David's favorite activities. He attends primary school at Kacyiru Student Center, and regularly attends Church with his family.
In order to support Daniel, the Active Chapter has been collecting cans and bottles from brothers and after parties, and sending the deposit proceeds to Compassion International. While we plan on continuing this practice, we would like to invite our Alumni to donate and help us to support Daniel as he continues to grow into a young man.
If you would like to help Daniel, click here to donate. Be sure to type in 'Sigma Chi-Compassion Child' at the bottom of the donation form where it asks if you would wish to designate your gift! Every little bit that is donated will help Daniel, so if you only want to give $5, we welcome the donation.
