Brother Mark Nicolet ('08) signs free agency with the Detroit Lions
After Brother Nicolet had a sensational career at Hillsdale, capped by a record breaking senior season, he was named the Great Lakes Intercolligiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year after throwing for 3,335 yards and 31 touchdowns -- both single-season school records. He was also named the Offensive MVP of the Cactus Bowl. Brother Nicolet will attend the Detriot Lion's mini-camps in order to determine further contract extensions. Alpha Kappa gives Brother Nicolet full support in his professional endeavors.
Sigma Chi Alpha Kappa Initated Six New Brothers
On Saturday, April 19th, Alpha Kappa Initiated six new brothers into the Sigma Chi brotherhood. Joseph Gord, Chris Kehoe, James Nesbitt, David Peden, Michael Snider, and Tobias Williamson are the Chapter's newest members, and we are proud to call them our brothers. We are excited to see what they will bring to the Chapter, and look forward to their participation in the house. As a pledge class, these gentlemen landscaped in front of the house, painted hallways, cleaned the volleyball court, and gave the house a thorough cleansing. Alpha Kappa wins 15th Consecutive Scholarship Cup
Alpha Kappa won the scholarship cup again for the 15th straight semester, making it 16 total scholarship cups that Alpha Kappa has won. The brothers of Alpha Kappa had the highest overall GPA of all fraternities on campus. The Scholarship Cup was presented to the brothers of Alpha Kappa at Fall Convocation, 2007. Seven New Brothers Initiated into Sigma Chi Alpha Kappa
On Saturday, January 21st, Alpha Kappa Initiated seven new brothers into the Sigma Chi brotherhood. Jim Beley, Elliot Braman, William Clark, Sam Handziak, Kirk Higgins, Daniel McHenry, Nick Plescia are the Chapter's newest members, and we are proud to call them our brothers. We are excited to see what they will bring to the Chapter, and look forward to their participation in the house. Brother Mark Nicolet ('08) Named GLIAC Football Player of the Year
Alpha Kappa would like to recognize the outstanding achievments of Brother Mark Nicolet as he has been named the 2007 GLIAC Football Player of the Year. Mark had a phenomenal season, leading the Hillsdale Charger Football Team to an 8-3 record, setting numerous Hillsdale and GLIAC records in the process. Mark was also one of 5 Charger players named First-Team All-GLIAC. Among the new records Mark set are new single game marks for yards and completions, as well as single season records for passing attempts, touchdowns, yards, and completions. Mark also set a new single season GLIAC record with 3,335 passing yards. Congratulations Mark on an outstanding season, as well as a great career with the Hillsdale Charger Football Team.
Fall 2007: Alpha Kappa Picks Up Eight New Pledges
On Sunday, September 23rd, 2007 Alpha Kappa picked up 8 new pledges. The new pledges include Kirk Higgins, Chris Kehoe, Sam Handziak, Nick Plescia, Elliot Braman, Will Clark, Jim Beley, and Dan McHenry. These men all met the requirements of The Jordan Standard and will bring a lot to the Alpha Kappa Chapter. It is our hope to make their pledgeship a very rewarding and fulfilling experience. We are confident that they will represent our house in an exceptional manner.
